WordPress has been released version 3.8 “Parker” named in honor of Charlie Parker, bebop innovator. The company claims it features a modern new design and most beautiful update yet.

Here’s what’s new in WordPress 3.8:

A modern new design

WordPress v3.8 has a new fresh look for the entire administration panel. It now brings more colorful design with various bigger and bolder colors.

This update has the Open Sans typeface providing friendly and simple text optimized for desktop and mobile devices. With contrast and comfortable, large type the design is very pleasure to work with.

Admin color schemes

This version also included eight new admin color schemes so you are free to choose the one that matches your personality best. They can be previewed and changed from the profile page.

Support for various types of devices

This version of WP will adapt no matter what device you use, desktop, tablet, smartphone or notebook. It contains new vector-based icons that will scale to your screen. Also, pages load significantly faster thanks to ditching pixels.

Refined theme and widget experience

With refined themes screen you’ll be able to survey your themes at a glance. With the new design, we’ve worked to streamline the widgets screen. If you have a large monitor multiple widget areas will stack side-by-side to use the available space, and if you use a tablet just tap a widget to add it.
